I attended two years of college at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College after graduating high school. I then entered the University of South Alabama to earn a Bachelor's degree in special education. Afterwards, I enrolled in the Master's program for special education and earned a Master's degree in special education from the University of South Alabama.

I returned to the University of South Alabama for the 2003-2004 school year to earn credit towards becoming highly qualified; in the spring of 2004, I took the Praxis II Exam and earned high qualified status to teach secondary English in Alabama. During the year 2006-2007 school year, I returned to college to earn an EdS in educational administration.

I have been teaching at Baker High School for 18 years. I have taught middle and high school special education classes in the areas of learning disabled, behavioral disorders, and mental retardation. I have taught the Alabama Occupational Diploma for the last 11 years and now I teach Life Skills English 9, 10, and 12 as a highly qualified special education teacher.
